Welcome to the home of Maggie Duffy

Singer/songwriter/poet from the West Country.

My musical life as a folkie is busy and I adore it however

I also gig with  Bob Thomson  - Bob joins me on some folk gigs ,however we have a very varied repertoire between us and are happy to do pubs/clubs/parties/weddings etc.

Living in the West Country with its rich tapestry of Folk Lore and Legends,  also being close to the sea, gives me much inspiration and makes my songwriting very pleasurable.

Some of my songs have gained National recognition which is nice. Writing Peace for the Child, earned me a meeting with Sir Terry Wogan, and a session at the wonderful Maida-Vale Studios London.

I have supported some very credible names in the Folk Music industry:

Fairport Convention, Phil Beer, Aly Bain and Phil Cunningham, Phillip Henry and Hannah Martin(Edgelarks) Blazin' Fiddles, The Albion Band, Bob Fox, Jim Causley ,Pete Coe, Brooks Willams,Sara Grey, Ninebarrow John Watterson, Ange Hardy,Geoff Lakeman  to name but a few.

I am also a Speaker for Ladies or Gents Social Groups who require entertainment.
I have several programmes so do please enquire.

My most popular talk is Devon Historical and Hysterical, this perfomance is presented in, folk song, poetry, dialect and anecdotes all connected to our beautiful county. Much of the content is based on local stories and legends some are naturally serious and thought provoking,BUT some will have you in tears of laughter.

Lastly  Mike Weed and I gigged together for several years and you will see reference to him on these pages.

However, in October 2016 we decided that we each needed to explore other musical avenues thus ending this  successful partnership on a high note.
